The Morning Star Trucking Company offers one-on-one Class A truck driving training with an experienced Morning Star instructor in both Los Banos, CA and Williams, CA.
The cost of your truck driver training will be fully covered by Morning Star if you agree to drive for us this season – July through September/October. (Training is Unpaid)
Class C trainees accepted.
Class A permit? We’ll help you get the rest of the way.

The Morning Star Training Process
Our process includes screening/interviewing and DOT qualification.
Before attending our training program, be prepared for drug screens and employment verification.
*Morning Star agrees to provide Trainee Class A Driver Instruction up to and including practical testing to receive a California Class A Commercial Driver’s License, with conditions defined below:
Morning Star is not a Truck Driving School. Morning Star does not provide Class A Driver License instruction for profit. The instruction is provided to individuals who intend to enter into employment with Morning Star as a truck driver for at least one season. The benefit to Trainee is the gaining of a Class A license plus a season’s experience as a Class A Driver, making Trainee marketable to other trucking firms after season’s end. The benefit to Morning Star is the acquisition of a qualified driver who can help us provide service to our customers.

Training depends on the individuals; those who come and practice on their own time tend to finish faster. Driver average is typically 40 hours.
If you decide not work with us the season after we trained you, you will be sent a bill.* Please reach out to one of our offices and we can discuss more in detail what the training cost is.
A reasonable DMV record consist of no major incidents (DUI and/or reckless driving) within the last 5 years.
Drivers are paid both by hour and by load, whichever is highest.
It varies on how long the season extends and if you work in both of our locations. Typically, drivers make $1,200+ per week. (Average includes end of season bonus)
Hauling is local. Please see each location below:
- Williams hauling is from Chico to Dixon area.
- Los Banos hauling is from Bakersfield to Sacramento area.
